Fla. dad arrested in son's Oxy overdose death

Here’s a strange one: the News-Journal reports that a Port Orange, Fla. man, 52-year-old Michael Reese, has been charged with neglecting a child after his 14-year-old son Jeremiah was found dead on Sept. 26 of OxyContin. Turns out Mr. Reese had recently filled a slew of painkiller prescriptions, including 120 oxycodone tablets last month, and had allegedly “been giving these pills out to juveniles in the neighborhood,” according to the paper.

Clearly, there were unusual circumstances involved in this case, but the end result certainly isn’t unique.
